Policies, Data Protection & Terms of Use

Last updated: November 20, 2025

At AGEL (Academy for Global Education and Leadership), we are committed to offering high-quality, ethical and student-centered services through our three pillars: AGEL Student Success Center, AGEL High School and AGEL University. This page explains how we manage your data, how our platforms may be used, and what you can expect from us as we work together on your academic and professional journey.

By browsing this website, creating an account, requesting information or enrolling in one of our programs, you accept the principles described on this page, in addition to any specific agreements or contracts that may apply to particular services or partner institutions.

1. Scope of These Policies

These policies apply to the public AGEL website, to our digital spaces related to the Student Success Center, AGEL High School and AGEL University, and to the information you share with us through online forms, emails, messaging apps, phone calls or in-person interactions.

They govern in particular: (a) the use of our informational content and resources, (b) the collection and use of personal data of students, parents or guardians, partners and prospects, and (c) the general rules of good conduct on our platforms.

2. Who We Are

AGEL (Academy for Global Education and Leadership) is an educational ecosystem based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, with a continental vision. AGEL aims to prepare a new generation of African leaders through three complementary pillars:

• AGEL Student Success Center: a coaching and academic guidance center that helps students clarify their orientation, strengthen their academic and language skills, and prepare for admission to universities in Africa and abroad. • AGEL High School: a bilingual high school designed to prepare students for international, particularly American-style, university admission. • AGEL University: a practical, American-style university focused on leadership, STEM, entrepreneurship and social impact, aligned with Africa’s economic, cultural and social realities.

3. Data We Collect

We only collect information that is relevant to our mission of guidance, training and support. The data collected may vary depending on whether you are visiting the website, requesting information, or applying to a program.

We strive to collect this information in a transparent manner and to use it only for clearly identified purposes.

  • Identity and contact details (first and last name, date of birth, nationality, email address, phone number, postal address, emergency contact).
  • Academic information (current level of study, school or university, grades or transcripts, test scores, language level, academic or professional goals).
  • Usage data on our platforms (pages visited, forms completed, downloads, interactions with our emails and digital campaigns).
  • Billing and payment-related information when you pay for services or programs (amounts, dates, payment method, payment status – payment processing is generally handled via secure third-party providers).
  • Sensitive data is collected only when strictly necessary (for example, information required for international applications, visa processes, scholarships or specific support) and always with explicit consent when required by applicable law.

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to deliver the services you have requested, to support you effectively, and to improve our programs and digital platforms.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with internal teams and trusted partners when it is necessary and relevant to the services you have chosen.

  • To provide and manage our services: academic guidance, coaching, language and skills training, application support for high school or higher education, visa and relocation assistance.
  • To improve our programs, tools and processes, based on anonymous or aggregated analyses of how students and families use our services.
  • To communicate with you: confirmations, reminders, appointment scheduling, information about your application, program updates and, where applicable, educational or promotional content related to AGEL programs.
  • To comply with our legal obligations (for example, responding to lawful requests from authorities or complying with regulatory requirements).
  • To produce internal statistics and strategic reports that help us strengthen our impact and better align AGEL’s offerings with the needs of students, families and partner institutions.

5. Your Rights Regarding Your Data

In accordance with applicable regulations, and within the limits of those regulations, you have several rights regarding your personal data.

You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details indicated in the last section of this page. For minors, these rights are generally exercised by parents or legal guardians.

  • Right of access: obtain information about the data we hold about you and how it is used.
  • Right to rectification: request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to deletion (right to be forgotten): request the deletion of some of your data, when the legal and contractual conditions allow it.
  • Right to object and restrict processing: object to certain uses of your data or ask us to limit how we use it in specific contexts.
  • Right to withdraw consent: when processing is based on your consent (for example, certain communications or specific programs), you can withdraw that consent at any time.

6. Responsible Use of AGEL Platforms

AGEL’s digital platforms are designed to support your academic and professional journey in a respectful, safe and constructive environment.

By using this website or any AGEL online service, you agree to observe good conduct and to respect the learning environment we seek to build.

  • Provide accurate, up-to-date and honest information when you complete our forms or submit documents.
  • Keep your login credentials confidential and not share your account with unauthorized persons.
  • Respect AGEL staff, other students and partners in all interactions (online and offline), refraining from any abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behavior.
  • Not attempt to damage, overload, disrupt or circumvent the security of our websites, platforms or information systems.
  • Promptly notify AGEL of any suspected unauthorized use of your account or any security incident that you become aware of.

7. Students Who Are Minors

Many of the students supported by AGEL, particularly within the Student Success Center and AGEL High School, are minors. The protection of children and young people is therefore a central priority.

When a student is a minor, the collection and use of their data is carried out in collaboration with parents or legal guardians, in accordance with applicable laws. Certain decisions (for example, program enrollment, international mobility projects or sharing of information with third parties) require the written consent of parents or guardians.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to ensure it functions properly, to remember certain preferences and to help us understand how visitors use our content.

You can configure your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to notify you when cookies are sent. However, some parts of the site may not function correctly without essential cookies.

Unless otherwise stated, the content published on AGEL websites (texts, graphics, logos, icons, photos, videos, documents, training materials, etc.) is protected by intellectual property rights and may not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed or used for commercial purposes without prior written authorization.

You may, however, view, download or print certain content for strictly personal, non-commercial and educational use, provided that you do not alter the information and that you clearly reference AGEL as the source where appropriate.

10. Changes to These Policies

AGEL may update these policies from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements or best practices in education and data protection.

In the event of major changes, we will endeavor to inform you through our website or by appropriate means. The date of the last update will always be indicated at the top of this page.

11. Contact and Questions

If you have any questions about these policies, about how your data is used, or if you wish to exercise your rights, you can contact AGEL using the contact details provided on the website (contact form, email address or telephone number).

When you write to us, please clearly indicate your identity, your relationship with AGEL (student, parent, partner, prospect, etc.) and the subject of your request, so that we can respond as effectively and quickly as possible.
